I looked up the multiple listing today and saw that a few listings haave been withdrawn.
I have seen this happen every year in November. It is an inconvenience for sellers to have the home on the market during the holidays but if they are serious about selling now may be a good time to have it on the market.
I had a listing and the seller called the office during thanks giving weekend and left a message that there would be no more showings and that he would put it on the market after the first of the year.
I got a call from an agent that she wanted to show it on Black Friday. I called the seller and requested and told him about the agent but he misunderstood and thought it was a buyer that I had and did not feel like turning me down so he agreed. When the agent showed up , he was surprised.
But the buyer bought the house and we settled in the first week of January.
Here are top Five reasons why you should not take your home off the market during the holidays :
1. Buyers who are looking to buy, are serious buyers. Others do not have time to waste.
2.There is less competition. Many people take their homes off the market .
3.Your home will show well, if you decorate for the holidays.
4.Many people who relocate to the area, and are getting transferred as of the first of the year , come looking for homes in November., during Thanks Giving Weekend or in December..
5.All it takes is one buyer. You do not want to miss the opportunity to sell to the buyer.
When you read about events please check the year for the event as some people find information a year later and think it is for that year. . The posts remain online even after the event.
