Green is certainly Red Hot in 2009. There are so many ways to help the environment and the nice thing is most of these things save you money in the long run.People have started clipping coupons again and every one is trying to save some money.
Here are five things that we can start doing right away:
1. Shop Rite grocery store in our area, credits us 2 cents for every plastic bag and 5 cents for the reusable bags . I have started taking my own bags to the store and save some money each week . Even if the store is not offering rebate , we can save the environment by reusing the bags instead of throwing them in the trash.
2.I have started using cloth napkins instead of paper napkins at home and I love the fact it looks formal and saves me money too.
3. Now that the weather is getting to be better we can walk to stores that are within walking distance or ride a bike. It will save the environment as well as money we would have spent on gas.
4. I buy fewer paper towels and use more rags for cleaning around the house.
5. Use energy efficient light bulbs.
The above are simple things we can do every day and it does not take up much time .
If a home owner would really like to go green in a Big way things to consider
are Solar heating, landscaping. construction materials, energy efficient appliances,
I have not yet made major changes to my home. The one thing I love is the solar lighting I have in my yard.
It costs no electricity, looks great and was inexpensive. I did not get an electrician to instal it.
I just put them in the ground myself.
There are builders who advertise the fact that they have Eco friendly material and as a real estate agent it is a good idea to be familiar with the materials available and products offered. More and more home buyers are knowledgeable about environmentally practices and would like energy efficient homes and appliances.
