Philadelphia, Bucks and Montgomery Counties Real Estate. Tips for home buyers, home sellers by Gita Bantwal,Realtor at Re/Max Centre Realtors.: Giving Back by knitting for kids .

Giving Back by knitting for kids .

Sally and David Hanson have a wonderful challenge for us this month that will benefit us if we participate .

I am not talking about the 1000 points we will receive for participating and wrting about it.

I am talking about the wonderful feelings  we  feel by doing something good on a regular basis for others.

All of us have many favorite charities to which we contribute money. We contribute to many charities throughout the year .

I feel blessed that I can donate to charities. I always admired people who give of their time.

Unfortunately I have not been so generous  giving of my time.

I do help my friends and family with my time but have not yet contributed of my time to charities.

I used to knit when my son was young . I even have a set of matching sweaters for me, my husband and my son that I knit once. I got so busy with real estate that I gave up knitting. I also love to read and cook and I spent my spare time reading .

I have decided to start knitting again and knit for charities.

We have formed a social  group in Warwick township where people can come and knit  , do needlework or crochet.

We meet once a month. It is an incentive for me to go and knit and socialize at the same time.

It is always fun to do things with people who have similar interests. The others will probably knit for themselves or family and friends. I have decided to knit sweaters for babies. My goal is to knit one item a month. I will have a new project each month.

If anyone is interested in knitting, you are welcome to come to Warwick township building.once a onth. email me at Gita01@aol.com for details.

Thank you Sally for this challenge.

What a lovely idea Gita, and that's a very nice social group to belong in Warwick county!

Awe I love that idea.  I of course have no idea how to knit but an form of charity I believe is good.  I volunteer at the Serenity House which is for cancer patients that are in their last few days of life. It is sad, but a blessing at the same time.  Great blog...thanks for sharing!

I have never learned to knit...I did do some crochet in high school...never really did much with it.

Joining a group is a great idea. My mom is in a group of women who make quilts and she loves it. Enjoy!

That's a nice thing to do.  You can be productive while socializing, and in the end you'll help someone else out.

How wonderful that is, Gita!  Several years ago, I spent a lot of time at the local Senior Center, where we knitted and crotcheted items for charitable causes.
